During the cold NBA All-Star weekend in Toronto, there was a special treat for sneakerheads in town – an all exclusive Air Jordan Pop Up store in the center of Toronto’s downtown, located precisely at 306 Yonge Street, it is truly a treat for all Nike, Jordan, and basketball fans in general. The store opened on February 12 at 6:23 am and closed at February 15 at 6:23 am. While this short period of 3 days might sound little, but it was open for 24 hours, and I was lucky enough to go for a visit.
For those that had the time, and effort that camped out of the store prior to the launch, there was a huge draw on the opening day including a pair of $3000 OVO Air Jordans. The coolest thing was that there was good quality hip-hop music playing, DJing by hustleGRL (at least when I was there), simulated basketball court on a large projected screen, and a basket to shoot hoops!
It was super cool to finally meet Karla, a.k.a. hustleGRL, she is a huge hustler in T.O., and if you don’t know her yet – then check out her work and bio at her website.
Unfortunately, the only shoe I copped was the Air Jordan Retro 2 Wing It – which actually doesn’t release until later this year in March. See below for the full gallery for my visit at this store.
PS: For those that didn’t get a chance to visit during the 3 days, don’t worry. It’s coming back after 1 month of closure and renovation, it will become a permanent Jordan store in Downtown Toronto.
